The Future of
Finance is OPEN
And this is the story of how we got there.

About
the book
A visionary narrative set in 2032 following
four innovators who build a transparent,
automated global financial infrastructure
Authored by Arunjay Katakam, a two-time
published author and recognised thought
leader in fintech and financial inclusion.
In October 2024, I took a 12-hour Virgin Atlantic flight back to London from Cape Town after attending a payments conference where I'd spoken about the future of digital finance. I love day flights and that rare space they create for true clarity to emerge: no WiFi, no distractions, just the gentle hum of engines and thoughts free to roam the stratosphere. The discussions from the conference were still swirling in my mind, and I found myself questioning the accepted limitations of our financial infrastructure. Despite the technological advances of the last two decades, payments remain fragmented, slow, and expensive. In a world where video calls are free, why should moving money—mere digits in a database—cost anything at all?
Together we have an opportunity to increase economic opportunity, financial stability, and general welfare for billions of people worldwide.
